La Boutanche is a collaboration between venerable natural wine importer Selection Massale and some of their best winemakers, and it's famous for brightly colored labels depicting different imbibing humanoid animals, each one distinct to the corresponding winemakers. Winemaker Chris Brockway is the force behind this cuvée, and is represented on the label by a fun loving <>. Chris established Broc Cellars in Berkeley in 2002 to make refreshing and approachable wines for everyday drinking. He uses native fermentations and organically-grown grapes and makes his wines with the intention to lift you up, never weigh you down. We literally love everything Chris does! This is a blend of mostly Zinfandel with a small part of Carignan and Valdiguie, notes of juicy blackberry, macerated plum, fresh herbs and sweet tobacco on the medium-bodied palate.
