winemaker pedro parra makes wines that he likes to drink: terroir-focused, with a hands-off approach in the vineyard and cellar. the granite soils and cool coastal winds keep the wines fresh with a fine mineral streak. pedro says ’imaginador’ is a wine that was in his imagination many years ago, when he discovered the great potential of itata terroir. the grapes come from 4 different growers he sources, all in the upper part of the hills, over granitic soils worked by horse and with no synthetic material, and all the sites were planted more than 200 years ago, with vines 45 to 70 years old. all blocks are supposed to be cinsault, but because of the history they all are cinsault field blends with muscat, semillon, carignan and país, which are all harvested and vinified together. this highly drinkable and grippy wine is full of red fruit and an earthy, mineral character.

craven wines is a winemaking collaboration between husband-and-wife team mick and jeanine craven. mick is an aussie and jeanine is south african; they met in california dragging hoses in sonoma for harvest in 2007. after both having taken to the textbooks at their respective universities, they decided to hit the road, see lots of things, work in lots of places and try and learn as much as possible from this massive wine world. after traveling across the world together for four years and learning about wines in australia, europe, the states and south america, the couple returned to south africa in late 2011. they feel stellenbosch has such an amazing array of sites and terroir, and that it is perfect for what they want to do, which is making site-specific, honest wines. this 100% cinsault is grown with great care in the faure area by pieter bredell (with jeanine's assistance and direction). the block is a dryland, bush-vine block, only three miles from the ocean and planted on granitic sand. this light red showcases flavors of red berries, black currants, rooibos tea and a hint of white pepper.

Ian Brand is a small producer focused on showcasing the quality and diversity of the wines that Monterey and the nearby AVAs in Cali's Central Coast can create. Ian originally moved from Utah to California to pursue surfing, but found his real calling at Bonny Doon in Santa Cruz, where he was assistant winemaker from 2004– 2007. He was named one of Wine & Spirits '40 Under 40 Tastemakers' in 2013, who said about him, “After moving from . Ian is known for his progressive approaches in the vineyard, his commitment to organic farming as well as his excitement for Monterey being an excellent terroir in California - the often overlooked greater Monterey Bay Area has a plethora of under-appreciated, rocky limestone-rich vineyards.This red blend of Grenach, Syrah and Mourvedre is their play on Southern Rhone Chateauneuf du Pape. Le P'tit Pape is produced from grapes that are sourced from four vineyard sites in Monterey, San Benito counties, with soils based on granite and/or siliceous. The wine offers aromas of bright red fruits, cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, underripe strawberries, followed by smoky meat characteristics with black pepper.

dandelion vineyards was founded by winemaker elena brooks and her husband, zar, with a vision to honor the land through wine. elena's passion for winemaking began as a child in bulgaria, where she translated for australian winemakers at a local winery. the winery sources grapes from its own vineyards and other old vine fruit in the barossa, mclaren vale, and eden valley regions, with a strong focus on sustainable farming. the name lionheart reflects the boldness and power that is asociated with barossa syrah. it's a full-bodied, complex wine with dark fruit flavors, spicy notes, and secondary notes of dark chocolate, smoke, and herbs, and a balanced, structured finish.
